DP6000 Paging Receivers | Instructions for Use
NOTE
: In 'LOW BATTERY' state it is advisable to change or charge the batteries as soon as possible to
guarantee correct operation.

STORAGE RACKS

The receiver has three contacts (fig.1(8)) used for charging and programming the receiver when placed in its
charging/storage rack. One contact can also provide 'Absent' indication. While the receiver is in the storage rack,
new messages will be stored in the memory stack. When taken out of the rack it will emit two attention bleeps to
indicate that new messages have been received.
NOTE
: For correct operation ensure that the receivers external contacts (fig.1(8)) are kept clean and clear of
impurities.
3-POSITION USER SWITCH
The 3-position user switch (fig.1(9)) has numerous functions and is installer and type dependent (with or without
vibrator). Contact your system installer for its functionality. The switch can have the following functions:
Switch the receiver ON/OFF
Switch volume between silent* (no ICON)/ soft
Enable/disable special group calls (decimal)
*If the bleep volume is switched to 'silent', incoming calls are indicated by the short attention bleep (types without
vibrator) or by a vibration signal only.
The table below is intended for use by your system installer to enter the functionality of the switch:

MESSAGE HANDLING
Each call to a receiver can contain upto 5-digit numeric and up to 48 character alphanumeric messages*. A
memory stack stores up to a maximum of 10 messages in a First-In-First-Out basis plus (if enabled) one telemetry
message
.
*= receivers with alphanumeric displayonly.
Calls can also contain messages which are not placed in the message stack. If such a message is displayed the
message number icon is blank.
If two identical messages are sent the last message only will remain in the stack. When the receiver is
programmed to display its own address during 'standby' a new message remains in the display until time-out
(approx. 8 seconds after the bleep has ended). After time-out the address will again be displayed.
RECALLING/SCROLLING MESSAGES
Press the RECALL/RESET button to scroll and read the messages from the stack. If back-lighting is
enabled, the RECALL/RESET button should be pressed twice to start scrolling (at the first push the backlight is
switched ON). While the message is displayed the message index number
higher the number the older the message).
An audible bleep is emitted when the end of the message stack is reached. If the button is not pressed within
approx. 8 seconds the receiver returns to its 'standby' mode displaying the last stored message (or if set the
receivers address). Messages longer than 24 characters are indicated under the Message scroll icon
If a message contains both numeric and alphanumeric* information the receivers LED emits a short flash to
indicate that the message also contains alphanumeric information.
