Installation Instructions – M-32T, M-5MR, M-5P30 & M-5P36
M-5MR, M-5P36: Low Voltage Adjustable Accent
Module
1.
Loosen thumbscrews holding access door, remove door
by lifting vertically to disengage from thumbscrews.
Remove access door from fixture.
2.
Insert M-5 series access door with transformer
mounted to it through aperture. Position door to
replace original door. Slide door down vertically over
thumbscrews. This can be done without removing
thumbscrews from housing. Tighten thumbscrews to
firmly hold door into place.
3.
Plug Quick connect into platform receptacle.
4.
Install Adjustable Accent mechanism into ceiling
aperture. Ring is keyed into platform by aligning notch
in ring with dropped finger on platform. Three springs
on Adjustable Accent ring snap into notches. (Figure 4.)
5.
Install lamp, and then install reflector. (Refer General
Lamp Instructions).
General Lamp Instructions
For PAR36 and AR111 lamps use screw driver to firmly
●
●
attach blade connector to screw terminal.
For AR111 lamps install protective cover glass. To install
●
●
lens, push on two spring retaining clips into 1/4" wide
slots on upper plate of the adjustable mechanism. Lens is
retained between springs and slot. (Figure 5.)
WARNING
Do NOT operate AR111 lamps without safety lens in
place.
For MR16 (Figure 6.) lamps, push retaining spring
●
●
towards lamp to release lamp bracket (Figure 6.1 and
6.2). Remove aluminum light shield by pushing retaining
spring (Figure 6.3 and 6.4). Install bi-pin lamp, push firmly
into socket until pins are fully seated as seen through the
small window at the base of the light shield. Reinstall
lamp shield into lamp bracket, and lamp bracket back into
fixture. Bracket will snap into position.
WARNING
Do NOT operate MR16 lamp without safety lens in
place.
For relamping, adjustable accent mechanism does not
●
●
need to be removed from fixture, nor be unlocked in
rotation or tilt.
Up to two lenses can be used with AR111 or MR16
●
●
lamps. When using lenses with prisms, the prism are
located away from the lamp.
Dimming low voltage magnetic transformers require
●
●
proper dimming equipment. An improper dimmer may
cause damage to transformers and shorten lamp life.
Consult factory for dimmer recommendations. The
yellow labeled lamp connector is for use in "dimmed"

applications. The blue labeled lamp connector is for use in
"switched" applications.
Dimmers lower the primary voltage from 120v to
N
otee:
115v or less, and therefore the transformer will
send only 11v output to the lamp instead of 12v.
The "dimmed" fixture output corrects for this
voltage loss. If a dimming system is operated
for construction lighting in its "shunt" mode, I.E.
bypassing the dimmer modules for an extended
period of time, the fixtures should be operated on
the "switched" output until the dimmers are in use.
Operating fixtures on the "dimmed" fixture output
with a full 120v for an extended period will overdrive
the lamp and cause shortened lamp life.
General Lamp Aiming
Lamp Tilt
Hot aiming can be accomplished by inserting screwdriver
into slot and using the tool as a lever to tilt the lamp
bracket. Guidance marks are provided every 15 degrees
for consistent appearance when aiming multiple units.
(Figure 7 .)
Horizontal Rotation
Spin mechanism rotates 361° and can be locked by
thumbscrew.
