BUOYANCY CONTROL
A diver who practices buoyancy control can hover in mid water regardless of depth, wet suit
compression, or excessive lead weight. Having true control over your buoyancy necessitates having the
right amount of lead weight for your situation. Many inexperienced divers wear too much lead and rely
on the BC to compensate as they descend.
Consult the instructional staff at your local Authorized Oceanic Dealer regarding advanced buoyancy
training. Additional training and practice in buoyancy control will enhance your diving experience.
There are also many books available on the subject for your study at home.
