WORKING INSTRUCTIONS
5.1 RESET/CALIBRATION push-button
The RESET push-button makes it possible to initialize the detector and automatically acquire the parameters of the loop
connected for correct functioning.
N.B. Making sure that there is no metallic mass on the loop, press the RESET push-button to carry out an automatic calibration of
the detector.
The RESET push-button must be pressed each time the position of one more dip-switches is varied.
5.2 LED (Fig. 3)
- At power-on and during the calibration phase, the LED remains steady for approximately 3 sec and flashes for 3 more sec
- The led turns on when the presence of a metallic body is detected.
5.3 Setting at work
•
Realize the connections for the undecal socket as shown in Fig. 3 and subsequently insert the detector as shown in the same
figure.
•
Set up the frequency through the dip-switches 1 and 2 as shown in Fig. 2. The change of frequency is mainly useful to avoid
interference between two near loops (2-3 mt.); in this last case it is necessary to set up different frequencies. As a general rule the
frequency must be low for large loop and high for small loop.
•
Set up the sensitivity through the dip-switches 3 and 4 as shown in Fig. 2. Setting the sensitivity allow to forbid the detection of
metallic body with little dimensions such as bicycle and motorcycle.
•
Output OUT1 may be active or not through the dip-switch 8 (Fig. 2) and provides an impulsive functioning (100 ms).
Output OUT2 may be set for impulsive (100 ms) functioning with activation on the entrance or on the exit of the loop; otherwise
this output may be set to presence functioning, through the dip-switches 6 and 7 (Fig. 2 ).
•
Be sure that there is no metallic mass on the loop, and press the RESET push-button to carry out an automatic calibration of the
detector.
•
Carry out sensitivity tests with the various types of vehicles that the device must detect. If necessary, vary the setting of dip-
switches 3 and 4 until the desired sensitivity level is obtained. It is not advisable to use excessively high sensitivity values.
•
Once the optimal sensitivity level has been established, if necessary enable the BOOST function using dip-switch 5.

Presence time set up
The dip switch SW10 (see Fig. 4) allows the setting of the presence time between 5 min and 'infinite', once the 'presence' mode of
output OUT2 has been set.
If 5 min is selected, the relay is energised on detecting the earth and remains energised for 5 minutes if the earth remains on the
coil, after which the relay de-energises. When the earth abandons the coil, the device automatically calibrates without the operator
having to operate externally.
If 'infinite' is selected, the relay is energised on detecting the earth and remains energised for the entire time in which the earth
remains above the coil.
To access the dip-switch, remove the electronic card from the plastic box.
Once the dip-switch is set, the electronic card must be re-inserted in the plastic box by following the indications given in Fig. 5,
taking care that the card is positioned between the second and the third guide.
