rating (including in your vehicle owner's manual)
or specific amperage ratings stated on product.

warnings and instructions printed on tow
vehicle's battery.
ALWAYS wear safety glasses and use all safety
precautions during installation.

TOOLS REQUIRED:
Trim Panel Remover, Wire Crimpers, Wire Cutters
WARNING
If installing Part Number 7865 only: To ensure
compliance with California regulation you must use
additional kit 30235-P. Failure to ensure compliance
with California regulations may result in independent
liability for the user.
1. Make sure the vehicle is off with the keys removed
from the ignition.
2. Disconnect and isolate the vehicle's Negative (-)
battery terminal.
3. Connect wires to brake control harness according to
chart.
WARNING
Connect wire by function only. Refer to vehicle manual
for related fuse locations (typically install at the
factory).
WARNING
If routing the wire thru a grommet and along the exte-
rior of the vehicle, be careful to avoid any hot pipes,
heat shields, the fuel tank or any other points that
may pinch or break the wire. Avoid any moving parts
that may pinch or break wires.
4. Plug Brake control adapter into mating receptacle on
backside of brake control.
5. Secure wiring Harness under dash.

6. Reconnect the tow vehicle's (-) negative battery cable.
CAUTION
See the vehicle's owners manual for special battery
reconnection instructions.
WARNING
Overloading circuit can cause fires. DO NOT exceed
lower of towing manufacturer rating or: Max. 4 AXLES:
8 BRAKES (30 amps) Read vehicle's owners manual &
instruction sheet for additional information.
WARNING
Complete the installation per the electric brake control
manufacturer's instructions and mount the unit as
directed. Perform test procedures as instructed.
NOTE
Vehicles not equipped with OEM trailer tow package,
may require fuses and relays to complete output and
battery feed circuits (sold separately). Consult owners
manual for locations.
