4. Implementation and Operation
Generally the safety guidelines are to be observed when working
with the equipment.
General Information:
Connect device as shown in Fig.03.
To install the socket, push the socket into the driving spindle as far as it
will go.
To remove the socket, simply pull the socket from the driving spindle.
To start the machine, simply pull the Trigger (2). Machine speed is
increase by increasing pressure on the main switch. Release the main
switch to stop.
For reversing the drive screw turn rotating direction switch (3) sideways
left or right. The directions of the rotation are also shown on the face of
the Knob.
Always check the Forward-/Reverse Knob (3) to avoid unwanted rotation.
Use the Forward- / Reverse Knob (3) only after the machine come to a
complete stop. Changing the direction of rotation before the machine
stops may damage the machine.
Hold the machine firmly and place the point of driver socket in the nut.
Apply forward pressure to the machine to the extent that the socket will
not slip off the nut and turn the machine on to start operation.
Use the proper Impact Socket for the nut that you wish to use.
Hold the machine pointed straight at the nut. If you tighten the nut for a
time longer than it needs, the nut or the point of the driver socket may
be overstressed, stripped, damaged, etc. Before starting your job, always
perform a test operation to determine the proper tightening time for
your screw. When tightening a standard nut in a steel plate, the proper
tightening torque can be obtained in an extremely short time (approx.
0.1-0.2 seconds).
Turn the machine off as soon as the impact sound is heard. When tighte-
ning nut M6 or smaller, carefully adjust pressure on the main switch so
that the nut is not damaged.
The tightening torque is affected by a wide variety of factors including the
following. After tightening always check the torque with a torque wrench.
If the air flow pressure is lower than 6.3 bars, also the fastening or loose-
ning torque is reduced.
Driver bit or socket bit: Failure to use the correct size driver bit or socket
bit will cause a reduction in the tightening torque.
For driving a bolt: Even though the torque coefficient and the class of bolt
are the same, the proper tightening torque will differ according to the
diameter of the bolt.
Even the diameter of the bolt are same, the proper tightening torque will
differ according to the torque coefficient, the class of the bolt and the
bolt length.
The manner of holding the machine or the material of driving position to
be tightened will affect the torque.

5. Maintenance
Generally for the device maintenance the environmental regulati-
Striking Mechanism Lubrication
Always ensure that the machine is disconnected from energy source
(compressed air) to avoid accidental operation.
Greasing the striking mechanism is necessary to ensure correct mecha-
nical function. Advantage is a stable torque and power output as well as
less wear and tear of the striking mechanism.
Lubricate the striking mechanism as follows:
1. Only use commercially available grease with MoS
2. Use grease gun with matching connector for the grease nipple on the
striking mechanism casing.
3. Clean grease nipple before use.
Greasing frequency and amount of grease with specifications MoS
depends on the use of the machine. Generally the need for maintenance
can be seen by reduced torque and power. Now it is high time to grease
the striking mechanism.
The given value in Fig.03 is only a reference value and can deviate accor-
ding to application and climatic conditions.

Motor Lubrication

Always ensure that the machine is disconnected from energy source
(compressed air) to avoid accidental operation.
Greasing the motor is necessary to ensure correct mechanical function.
Advantage is a stable torque and power output as well as less wear and
tear of the motor.
Lubricate the motor as follows:
1. Only use RODCRAFT accessory air oil
2. Clean air intake nipple before use
3. Fill air oil (approx. 3 drops) into the air intake nipple and briefly
operate the machine.
Follow abovementioned steps before and after using the machine. This
increases the machine's service life.
Manual motor maintenance as described above can be efficiently
complemented by a commercially available maintenance unit from the
RODCRAFT accessories. Install the maintenance unit as shown in Fig.03.
Keep the tool clean and away from aggressive chemicals. Do not leave
the tool outdoors.
Maintenance and repair of the equipment only by technical
maintenance staff.
6. Disposal
The disposal of this equipment must follow the legislation of the respective
country.
All damaged, badly worn or improperly functioning devices MUST BE
TAKEN OUT OF OPERATION.
Repair only by technical maintenance staff.
Use the equipment only for its intended use as described above, any
other use is expressly excluded! We are not responsible for injuries
and damage due to inappropriate use and misuse and/or
noncompliance of safety precautions; this is not covered by the
warranty.
