DESCRIPTION
Extension unit for programming and managing the
SCM 8000 system.
This module will provide C level headends the ability to
control from the MCU 8000 all equipments. Each frame
needs one ECU 8000 module, except the frame including
a Master Control Unit MCU 8000.
The maximum number of frames capable to be managed
by each MCU 8000 is 16.
It enables performing the following functions:
o Programming and monitoring of the SCM 8000 control
unit modules from the PC.
o Detection, recording and management of alarms that are
triggered.
o Detect and communicate the failure of the power supply,
in its frame.

INST LL TION ND SET-UP
Fasten the modules in the rack in the order indicated on
the sample application.
The ECU 8000 unit is installed to the left of the SPS 8000
power supply.
Connect the B 807 Ref. 83807 power bus between the
modules and the power supply.
Connect the auxiliary cable supplied with the equipment
between the SPS 8000 V test connector and the
ECU 8000 V test connector.
Connect the communications and control buses
(Ref. 83811) between the ECU-8000 and the equipment,
as well as communications and control buses (Ref 83812)
between ECU 8000 and MCU 8000, and between the
different ECUs located in the frames.
Connect a CU 120 charge to the last module in the set
on the left of the installation.
DDRESS hub: ECUs of different frames must have a
different address bewtween them (1-16).
We recommend using the ddress hub in addresses that
increase consecutively from up and down. This address
corresponds to the image of the control unit that is seen
on the PC.
Connect the power source to the electrical supply.
The control unit will check the equipment belonging to
the control unit, communicating with the ECUs to carry
out the identification of the modules in each frame.
The COMM communications LED will light up in green
and blink when data are being transferred.
