CALIBRATION CHART
Heat conductivity is affected by surrounding temperature and stones size.
STONE SIZE (any shape)
0.05ct and under
0.06ct-0.5ct
0.6ct and above
* Under 0.05ct, set the Level Meter display to light on up to 6.
* From 0.06ct to 0.5ct, set the Level Meter display to light on up to 4.
* Over 0.6ct, set the Level Meter display to light on up to 2.
For example, when testing a stone of about 0.3 carat in a cold temperature set the Level Meter Lamp to light on 3 and in warmer temperatures
set it to light on 5.
OPERATION
Gently but quickly apply the Probe tip "1" to the stone. Too strong a touch may bend or break the Probe tip. As shown on the illustration,
contact the Probe tip perpendicularly to the stone.
INTERPRETING THE READING
Diamonds:
1) Beeping sound (beep-beep-beep).
2) 1-4 segments of the Red section of the Level Meter "2" light up (the larger the stone, the more segments of the Red section of the Level
Meter light up).
Diamond simulants:
1) No beeping sound.
2) No light in the red section of the display though the Yellow and/or Green sections sometimes light up in case of some kinds of simulants.
DIAMOND SELECTOR II reacts positively to WHITE SAPPHIRE.
The speed of reaction of the diodes on the level meter display (2) is a determining factor to distinguish the real diamonds from the simulants.

Metal alert:
Continuous buzzing sound
Thermal Probes. The Diamond Selector II has a Metal Alert buzzer to warn you when the Probe tip touches metal. If you hear the Metal Alert
buzzing sound, test again touching only the tested stone with the tip.

DISPLAY READING
IMMEDIATE reaction. The diodes light up VERY
RAPIDLY on the level meter
SLOW reaction, sometimes no reaction at all.
The diodes light up VERY SLOWLY one after
another. Sometimes, the diodes do not light up
at all.
. The thermal conductivity of the metal is very high and can give the same indication as a Diamond with most
