I t 's important to charge the battery for 12 hours before using it
for the first time, as the batteries may only have a low charge
r e m a i n i n g .
The battery needs a few charge/discharge cycles to reach its full
capacity.

3. Setup for excavating

Place the laser in a location where receiver can pick up the beam,
and turn it on.
To determine the setup length: measure the H.I. (height of instrument).
Add that to Cut measurement to determine depth (L).

With the dipper arm relatively plumb, measure up from the bucket.
The bucket can be fully extended or curled, as long as it's used in the
same position when grade readings are taken. Position the receiver's
on-grade notch at the top of this (L) measurement (per the following
attachment instructions).
3.1 LMR 360R with clamps
Attach a mounting bracket to the dipper arm made from square or
round pipe, 1 5/8" to 2 1/8" o.d. (40-55mm). The bracket should be
long enough to be able to adjust the receiver for deeper excavations.
You can purchase a mount from your dealer, or make it yourself.
Place the receiver on the pipe and move it up or down until you get
the on-grade signal (center LED is lit). Clamp it tight.

3.2 LMR 360R with magnets

The magnets attach directly to the dipper arm. However, because of
the strength of the magnets, the receiver is difficult to adjust for height
after attached. Hold the receiver at a 90° angle to the dipper arm, so
that just the edge of the magnets are next to the surface (do not allow
them to make full contact). Move up or down until you get the on-grade
signal (center LED is lit) and then place magnets on arm surf a c e .
For faster setup, adjust the laser instead of the receiver. Use a tripod
with an elevating column to quickly move the laser beam to get the
on-grade signal.

4. Using the LMR 360R receiver

Press the red 'On/Off' key near the bottom of the receiver.
The LEDs then blink momentarily to indicate the deadband (fine or
coarse accuracy). The last setting used stores in memory and is the
default setting when turned on.
