"Send File". If using Hyper Terminal, call the version that
you created for NAVIGATOR PLUS. Click on "Transfer" on
the top menu bar and select "Send Text File". A dialog
box will appear allowing you to select the NAVIGATOR
PLUS text file that you made when you saved the me-
mory. Find the drive and folder where you created the
file if it is not in the current window, select the file and
click on "Open". Hyper Terminal will begin to transmit
the file. The NAVIGATOR PLUS display will read "recei-
ving file". After the file has been sent, NAVIGATOR PLUS
will restart and show its startup display. If any errors have
been detected, NAVIGATOR PLUS will prompt you to re-
try. Check your connections and try again. The length
of time it takes to update the memory will vary depen-
ding on the amount of memory in use at the time it was
recorded.
11.4.UPDATING THE SOFTWARE
To copy the new software file from your PC to NAVIGA-
TOR PLUS, go to the NAVIGATOR PLUS menu selection la-
beled "update software". Press "enter" and the display
will read, "Download new program".
NAVIGATOR PLUS is now ready to receive the file from
your PC. As an alternative you can access this menu
by holding down the "menu" and "erase" switch while
powering up NAVIGATOR PLUS.
If you are using SD Backup, follow the instructions for
"Send File". If you are using Hyper Terminal, call the
version that you created for NAVIGATOR PLUS. Click on
"Transfer" on the top menu bar and select "Send Text
File". A dialog box will appear allowing you to select the
text file that you downloaded from the web site. Make
sure that the file has been unzipped before trying to use
it (the file will end with .txt not .zip). Find the drive and
folder where the file is located, select the file and click
on "Open". Hyper Terminal will begin to transmit the file.
The NAVIGATOR PLUS display will read, "receiving new
program". After the file has been sent, NAVIGATOR PLUS
will restart and show its startup display. If any errors have
been detected, NAVIGATOR PLUS will prompt you to re-
try. Check your connections and try again. It will take
several minutes to transfer the file.
