1. Make sure the stylus cover is removed from the end of the tone
arm.
IF IT ISN'T, gently pull the cover toward you and remove it. Keep the cover in a
safe place—you should use it if you ever move the turntable.
2. Make sure the tone arm is unhooked from its holder.
3. Place your record on the turntable. Use the 45 adapter if needed
(usually for 7" records, or singles—no adapter is necessary for most
Arm hook
12" records).
4. Set the SPEED selector to the correct speed for the record.
33 for most 12" records
45 for most 7" and some 10" records
78 for older records (not very commonly used)
