Installation Instructions

General information

The AS1 digital remote probe is designed
to provide close control of the ambient tem-
perature at a location away from that of the
DPC-1 and DPC-1R thermostats.
Up to 4 remote probes can be connected.
Depending upon the number of probes to
be installed, the SW1 microswitch of each
probe must be configured and the origin of
temperature reading programmed on the
DPC thermostat.

Technical specifications

This accessory includes the following com-
ponents:
- 15kOhm NTC probe.
- Connecting strip.
- Front cover.
- Probe base.
- Wedges and screws.
Location
To guarantee adequate operation, it should
be installed on an indoor wall, in a frequently
occupied area of the building. Moreover, it
should be at a distance of at least 50 cm.
from any outdoor wall, and at approximately
1.5 m. above floor level, in an are with free air
circulation at an average temperature. The
following locations should be avoided:
- Behind doors or in corners not having free

- Places where direct sunlight or heat com-
ing from other apparatus can alter probe
readout.
- On an outdoor wall.
- Near the discharge grids of an air con-
ditioning unit, stairwells or doors leading
outside.
- Places where operation can be affected by
gas or water pipes, or hot air chimneys or
stacks in adjacent spaces, or in any zone
without environmental control behind the
probe.
- Places where operation is affected by the
supply air of any nearby unit.
- Near sources of electric interferences.
Fastening the remote probe
To fasten the remote probe to the wall, open
the front cover and expose the base of the
probe.
Fasten the probe to the wall with the wedges
and screws supplied.
Take into account that the rectangular hole
located at the bottom of the base is to house
the electric connection cables.
Installation
It is recommended that installation be car-
ried out by a qualified specialist.
1. Established national regulations must
be followed in all cases.

2. Disconnect power supply to the unit.
3. Use 3 x 0.5 mm

a maximum length of 100 m., between
the thermostat and the last probe. Make
sure the cable is not laid out near power
supply cables.
4. Connections to be made are R, B and X1
on the thermostat side and on the probe
side connecting strip.
5. Connect power supply to the air condi-
tioning unit.
6. Configure the SW1 microswitch of each
probe and program the origin of the
remote probe as S5, S6, S7 or S8.
7. Make sure Led 1 of the remote probe
flashes, which indicates there is com-
munication between the thermostat and
the probe.
Caution:
Loose cables can cause over-
heating of the terminals or
incorrect operation of the unit.
Fire hazards may also exist.
Therefore, make sure all ca-
bles are connected tightly.
