QUICK REFERENCE GUIDE
The FireHawk M7 I-HUD (Internal Heads-Up Display), located in the
Ultra Elite
or Ultra Elite XT Facepiece allows a user to see cylinder
®
pressure in regular pressure remaining increments, PASS pre-alarms,
battery status, and telemetry information (optional) while wearing
the air mask.
The FireHawk M7 I-HUD is compatible with FireHawk M7XT/M7 Air Masks
only.

FIREHAWK M7 I-HUD FUNCTIONALITY
1. The I-HUD allows the user to see the cylinder pressure while
wearing the air mask. The transmitter wirelessly transmits a signal to
the I-HUD (in the facepiece) while the air mask is in use. The I-HUD
displays the cylinder pressure in regular cylinder increments, by an
LED pattern.
• As each cylinder pressure increment is reached, a unique LED
pattern will be displayed for approximately 20 seconds before
extinguishing. The display can be refreshed by pressing the
mode button on the transmitter (green on the FireHawk
M7XT/M7 Control Module) approximately three seconds.
• When the End-of-Service-Time Indicator (EOSTI) service
pressure is reached (33% for FireHawk M7XT, 25% for all
others), a single flashing red LED will be displayed and will
continue to flash until the unit is turned off or the cylinder is
refilled.
• The I-HUD must be within approximately 18 inches of the I-HUD
Transmitter to properly receive the signal being transmitted.
2. The I-HUD has a buddy light that flashes red when the air mask
reaches the EOSTI. This buddy light is not visible to the user while
the air mask is in use.

3. When the user of the air mask remains motionless for
approximately 20 seconds, the PASS pre-alarm (if an integrated
PASS is in use) will begin to sound. During this pre-alarm, the I-HUD
will display an orange LED, and this LED will extinguish when full
PASS alarm is reached or the pre-alarm is reset.
4. When an evacuation command is sent to the user (if an optional
telemetry module is in use), the I-HUD will display an alternating red
and orange LED until the evacuation is confirmed.
5. The I-HUD has a photo sensor that automatically adjusts the
brightness of the LEDs based on the intensity of the ambient light.
6. The I-HUD indicates a low battery condition by a single flashing
yellow LED. When the I-HUD Transmitter reaches a low battery
condition, a double flash of the yellow LED is displayed in the I-HUD.
If both the I-HUD and I-HUD Transmitter reach a low battery
condition, the I-HUD displays an alternating single and double flash
of the yellow LED. If this condition exists, return to fresh air, and
replace the batteries immediately.
7. The FireHawk M7 I-HUD is equipped with a self-test feature. Push
the green button for at least 3 seconds and release to initiate a self-
test routine. If the battery is low, the low battery LED will flash for 5
seconds after the self-test routine. The test feature is disabled if the I-
HUD is paired to an air mask.
INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE I-HUD
Installing the I-HUD
DO NOT use an I-HUD with a silicone Ultra Elite Facepiece
nosecup. The silicone nosecup will not provide adequate I-
HUD retention friction on the nosecup assembly. The
friction generated by the I-HUD retention arms will also
damage the body of the silicone nosecup. A Soft-Feel Hycar
nosecup must be used in conjunction with an I-HUD in an
Ultra Elite Facepiece. Ultra Elite XT Facepieces only contain
a Hycar nosecup.
1. Remove the nosecup and
unthread the speaking
diaphragm retaining ring
from facepiece.
