3. Installation
Notes:
•
never apply power to the PCSATA without a device attached.
•
never connect more than 1 power supply to a SATA device.
IDE device
•
Set the PCSATA for IDE-to-SATA conversion (refer to the
illustration on page 2 of this manual).
•
Plug the PCSATA connector [C] on the IDE connector of the IDE
device.
•
Plug the SATA-cable from the computer system into the SATA-
connector [B]. Use the included SATA cable if necessary.
•
Plug an available power connector into the power connector of the
IDE device.
•
Plug the small connector of the included power cable into the power
connector [A] of the PCSATA. Connect the other end to the power
supply of the system.
•
Power on the system. The status LED [D] lights up.
SATA device
•
Set the PCSATA for SATA-to-IDE conversion (refer to the
illustration on page 2 of this manual).
•
Plug the included SATA-cable into the SATA-connector [B]. Connect
the other end to the SATA-device.
•
Plug the IDE-connector [C] of the PCSATA into a motherboard or
IDE extension cable (with female connector).
•
Plug an available power connector into the power connector of the
SATA device.
•
Plug the small connector of the included power cable into the power
connector [A] of the PCSATA. Connect the other end to the power
supply of the system.
•
Power on the system. The status LED [D] lights up.
