Introduction
The Southwire T100PK Professional Tone & Probe Kit provides a
simple way of tracing and locating multiple types of cables. The
tone generator sends a tone down the cable being traced and the
amplifier probe detects the tone in order to track and identify the
cable. The tone generator can also be used to test continuity and
check polarity on phone lines. With proper use, this tester will
provide many years of reliable service.
WARNINGS
• Read, understand and follow Safety Rules and Operating
Instructions in this manual before using this tester.
• Never connect the tester to any circuit with AC voltage.
• The maximum voltage allowed across the test leads is 60V DC
when checking polarity or sending a tone.
• Never connect the tester to any circuit with AC or DC voltage
when testing continuity.
• Keep fingers away from the metal probe tips when making connections.
• Do not use the tester if the tester or test leads appear damaged.
• Do not modify or try to repair the tester. No serviceable parts are inside.
• Do not use the tester in a wet or damp environment or during
electrical storms.
• Do not use the tester near explosive gases, dust or vapor.
• For indoor use only
Maintenance
This tester is designed to provide years of dependable service,
if the following care instructions are performed:
1. KEEP THE TESTER DRY. If it gets wet, wipe it off.
2. USE AND STORE THE TESTER IN NORMAL TEMPERATURES.
Temperature extremes can shorten the life of the electronic parts
and distort or melt plastic parts.
3. HANDLE THE TESTER WITH CARE.
Dropping it can damage the electronic parts or the case.
