What can a regular massage do for my horse?
• Relieve tension
• Improve blood circulation → higher muscle performance
• Improve body awareness
• Increase sense of wellbeing
• Strengthen the relationship between horse and human
• Stimulate metabolism
• Activate the self-healing powers
• Able relaxation after exertion
Horses can be massaged at any time
Before work, a massage can help relieve tense muscles. The horse can then use
all of its muscles more efficiently during training and, consequentially, build them
up faster. The rider can benefit from the horse loosening up faster (massaging
does not replace warming up the horse for riding, it only increases muscle
performance!) and improved flexibility in all gaits. A massage after work can help
relax and reduce muscle soreness.
Duration of a massage: 20 – 90 minutes, depending on the horse's well-being
WARNING
The massage must be perceived as pleasant and relaxing at all times. Stop the
massage or change the position of the massager if you feel the massage is painful
or uncomfortable for the horse.
