UNPACKING AND SETUP

The Machine III requires minimal preparation for use.
A few simple steps are necessary before operating
the unit:
1. Handles
Remove the red cap from left handle hole. This cap is used
to hold the handle locking pin in place during shipping. The
purpose of the pin in the left handle is to act as a locking
pin to hold the plates in position. Be certain that the pin
does not fall out of the hole when the cap is removed. If
the pin comes out of the hole, ensure it is installed with
the white tip toward the post. Insert both handles into the
handle holes at the back of the hinged frame. When raising
the plates to the upper position for heating, turn left handle
to lock the plates in place. Turn the handle away to loosen
and lower the plates. One teardrop knob is provided to act
as a material plate guide and may be inserted into the left
or right front hole depending on user.
2. Placement
The Machine III should be placed on an open counter,
within 4' of a standard properly grounded electrical outlet.
CAUTION: The unit should not be placed closer than
6" from walls, cabinets or other equipment while in
operation because of the temperature emitted from
the heater. Under no circumstances should this unit
be operated while located under or in a cabinet.
3. Power Cord
Plug the female end of the cord into the electrical inlet
located on the back of the unit and the male end into a
properly grounded electrical outlet. The unit's power cord
should not be placed near the heater or any other hot sur-
face.
