HM710 MOCHA MAKER

CLEANING AND CARE

Cleaning
Always separate the mocha pot from the base before cleaning and disconnect the
base unit by removing the plug from the socket. Remove the mocha pot from the
base unit. Check that the pot is standing on a flat surface.
Raise the lid of the upper half of the pot to open it and clean both the interior and the
outside surfaces of the mocha pot with a soft, damp cloth. Rinse the stainless steel
tube and the lid of the upper half of the pot under the tap or wash in warm soapy
water and rinse thoroughly.
If the filter plate is clogged, remove the ring seal carefully with a needle and take the
filter plate out. Clean out the holes on the filter plate with a needle.
Clean the water reservoir with a damp cloth and wipe dry.
N.B. Never immerse the lower half of the pot or the base unit in water or any other
liquid! Clean with a soft, damp cloth then dry. Never use harsh or abrasive cleaners.
Care
1.
Keep the mocha maker dry when not in use.
2.
The ring seal on the filter plate must be replaced if it becomes brittle or is
damaged.
3.
Unscrew the two halves of the mocha maker and remove the ring seal when not
in use.
Storage
The power lead is integrated with the base unit. Always unroll just enough cable to
connect the appliance to the mains safely. Leave the remaining cable rolled up while
using the mocha maker. Roll the power lead up again before putting the mocha maker
away.
Descaling the mocha maker
The mocha maker must be descaled from time to time to ensure perfect functioning.
The frequency depends, on the one hand, on the hardness of the tap water and, on
the other, on how often the mocha maker is used. Descaling cleans the inner parts
of the mocha maker.
Put 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar in the coffee funnel and pour 6 coffee cups
of water (3 dl) into the water reservoir. Check that all parts have been assembled
properly and that the lid of the pot is in place. Place the mocha pot on the base unit
and plug into the mains. Run the brewing process as usual. As soon as this is finished
pour the water and cream of tartar away (cream of tartar solution) away.
Run a new cycle with clean tap water. This rinses the pot out and the descaling
procedure is complete.
Subject to change without prior notice.
