System features and types
IC-BOX 1 / IC-BOX 2 / IC-BOX 3
• They maintain the fluid return temperature constant;
• They allow limiting the average flow temperature;
• They are suited to high temperature systems(*);
• They must be installed on the return circuit on the floor;
• To ensure proper temperature distribution, they require a spiral underfloor
circuit.
(*) Compatible with the specifications of EN 1264 (see section "Setting the return
temperature ( IC-BOX 1/2/3 models)")

Installation instructions:

Preparing the system
The IC-BOX connections are EK ¾'', 50 mm centre distance: make sure the piping connected to the box compartment is compatible with these features. Prepare the
necessary channels in the wall for the passage of capillaries or electrical cables, if necessary.
Attention: The IC-BOX 1/2/3 models must be installed on the floor circuit return! Verify that the flow direction corresponds to the arrow on the brass body.
Wall installation
Drill a cavity in the wall that is ≥ 59 mm deep and with a height that allows the box to be inserted (≥ 186 mm) and the pipes to be connected. The width of the cavity
must be ≥ 152 mm. Insert the IC-BOX without the cover and complete the walling operations. The box has 4 holes on the bottom for fixing screws if necessary. Remove
the pre-cut dowel on the lower surface of the box, intended for the passage of the pipes. If necessary, also remove the pre-cut dowels on the upper side of the box: this
is operation is required for IC-BOX 1/5 models, equipped with a thermostatic valve for controlling the remote sensor (for example with a remote sensor thermostatic
head or an electro-thermal head connected to the thermostat). Complete the wall covering installation operations.
Connecting the pipes
Cut the pipes to the required length. Cut in a net manner, perpendicular to the axis, being careful not to ovalise the pipe or leave burrs and irregularities.
The connection between the IC_BOC and the return pipes from the circuit and the column return must be made using ¾'' EK x DN screw-on fittings (for example, IVAR
art. TA 4420 multi-layer pipes, TP 4410 for polyethylene pipes and TR 4430 pipes for copper pipes): use only fittings specific for the type of pipe installed. Install the
fitting components in the correct order and apply the tightening torques indicated by the manufacturer for the material and the diameter of the specific pipe installed.
In the case of IVAR fittings, remember that lubricating the rubber parts with mineral-based oils and greases is prohibited, while water (preferable) or silicone-based
lubricants can be used.
During this phase, if necessary, it is possible to unscrew the IC-BOX brass body from the box using the two dedicated cross screws, which must be re-tightened once
the pipe connection is complete: this operation must be carried out only if absolutely necessary and with caution in order to prevent damaging the plastic nuts.
Covering the device
IC-BOX is equipped with a front door with side flaps which, during closing, are made to slide into the dedicated grooves, applying pressure perpendicular to the wall.
For the IC-BOX 2/4 the round dowel must be removed to allow positioning the thermostatic head with the built-in sensor. To remove the cap work on the back of the
cover: use the raised flaps on the back of the cap to turn it slightly counter clockwise (about 2°) and unlock it it; then push it out and remove it. For the IC-BOX 1/3/5
versions, keep the dowel mounted on the cover. If the dowel has been removed and you want to re-install it, insert it into the hole from the front side of the cover,
making sure the larger raised tooth of the two present on the side surface of the dowel corresponds to the groove on the left of the hole on the cover, while the smaller
tooth corresponds to the groove on the right. Firmly push the dowel into the hole then turn the cover with the dowel inserted on the rear side, keeping the cover and
dowel aligned (for example, resting the cover with the dowel on the a flat and clean surface); then turn the dowel clockwise by about 2° using the dedicated flaps, until
it is fully blocked.
6. Return temperature limiter knob (RTL)
7. Thermostatic head screw
8. Protective cap
9. Double micrometric adjustment lockshield
IC-BOX 4 / IC-BOX 5
• They only control the room temperature;
• They do not allow limiting the average flow temperature;
• To prevent the overheating of the screed, they require that the flow enter
• They can be installed on the floor return or delivery circuit;
• They can be connected with a spiral or serpentine circuit.
