6. TUNING YOUR KITE
Advanced Tuning
Turning Speed & Bar Pressure
Adjustment:
There are two knots (1 and 2) on
the kite to attach your rear bridle line
to. This allows you to change the
power, turning speed and amount of
bar pressure you will feel.
Knot 1 will give you the most bar
pressure, fastest turning, and most
direct feel for where your kite is. This
set up is designed to be ridden when
your control system is in the 1:1
configuration.
Knot 2 will provide a balanced amount
of power, turning, and bar pressure.
Changing from 2:1 to 1:1
- Disconnect the leader line from the pigtail
that is attached to the center line swivel.
- Disconnect the pigtail from the center line
swivel.
- Loop the pigtail through itself above the
knot on the outside leader line and tighten.
- Connect the end of the leader line to the
middle knot of the pigtail using a larks head
connection.
* Be aware that using the 1:1 configuration
will give you less depower,
overall.
There are now many differnet ways to tune
your SLE kite for the feel that you want. We
encourage you to try different settings and
find the setting that best fits your personal
style.

7. RELAUNCHING AN SLE KITE

How the SLE Control System
helps to relaunch the kite:
If the kite is straight downwind of you, with
the leading edge on the water, you can
simply pull on one of the back leader lines to
relaunch the kite. As you pull the leader line
in, the kite will roll on its side and work
its way to the edge of the window. From
there it will relaunch easily.
Make sure that you never wrap the line
around your hand. Be careful not to become
entangled in any slack line.
