Combined filters for protection against special gases and vapours are classified according to the filter capacity of the SX P1, SX P2,
SX P3 particle filtering side(see above paragraph "Particle filters") and taking into account the limits of protection of the masks. SX
filters must only be used once.
Masks
SEKUR filters can be combined with masks as follows:
with EN 148/1 screw threaded connector:
series 230, 300, 500 et 530 DIRIN filters
With EN 148/1 screw threaded connector:
Series 230 (code 4338.3220)
With snap-on connector or special thread:
Series 230 (class 1, 2 gas filter, class P1, P2, P3 particle filters and their
With snap-on connector or special thread:
Series 200 (small filters) (class 1, 2 gas filters, class P2, P3 particle filters
and their combinations)
The masks must be always used with a pair of filters of the same type,
which must both be replaced even if unused.
Storage and maintenance
SEKUR filters should be stored in a place at temperature range between 2°C and 55°C, with humidity lower than 80% and away by
significant vibration sources. The filters should be protected from the solar radiation, oxidant agents, shocks and risk of falling
down. Avoid contact with ketones, esters, hydrocarbons, acids and strong bases, high pressure fluids, liquids. The expiry date of the
filter is indicated on the filter itself, on condition that it is property kept in its original packaging. Once opened, gas and combined
filters must be used within 6 months, and only if the filters have been stored in their original packaging, with the caps inserted and
according to the storage instructions. Pay attention not to store filters with traces of dirt on the air inlet. AX, SX and NO P3 filters
must be used only once. If transported and stored in their original packaging, SEKUR filters do not require any maintenance.
Note: the filter of series 230/ DIRIN 230/ series 200 must not be used if during the use they come in contact with organic
substances which effect structure of the filter body.
Preparation for use and use
The use of a respirator fitted with a filter must be properly trained and fully conversant with the relevant instructions for use.
Remove the packaging and cover from the filter. Ensure that the airtight seal is not damaged. Check if the coding of the filter is the
correct one for the intended use, check by visual inspection if it is in perfect conditions and if the caps are inserted. Connect
hermetically filter to facepiece, put on respirator and check tightness against face. The filter duration depends on the condition of
use. Filters for protections against odourless gases and vapours (for example mercury and carbon monoxide) must only be used
once and for a short period, determined by the actual working conditions. For special filters such as AX filters, there are special
instructions that must be followed. Particle and combined filters (used in dusty conditions) must be replaced when an increase in
