1. Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of HDD Case USB 2.0 from
Multilaser. The HDD Case delivers a fast and easy way to add
more allocation space to your computer. Please read this
User´s guide carefully before using this device.

2. System requirements

. Hardware: desktop or laptop with USB 1.0, 1.1 or 2.0 ports.
. Operational system: Windows 2000, XP, Vista and 7; MAC
8.6 or superior.
PS: To acquire high speed of up to 480 Mbps, your computer
needs to have USB 2.0 ports, or an USB card adapter.

4. Hardware configuration

a. Connect your hard disk properly to the HDD SATA case´s
port.
b. Connect the power adapter to the case and turn it on (for
3,5" HDD case).

c. The computer should detect the new hardware.
d. Under Windows 2000/XP, the driver´s configuration will
not be necessary. Please skip to section 6.0 to format your
HDD drive.
PS: you must use the power adapter to turn the case on
before connecting to a USB port, otherwise, there might be an
error (for 3.5" HDD Case).
5. Installation
It´s not necessary to install any driver.
IMPORTANT: Every time you disconnect the HDD SATA case
from your computer, you must eject it (you will find it in the
inferior right side of your desktop). If you pull the USB cable
WITHOUT ejecting the device, it is possible to have data loss
or damage the device.
6. Formatting your Hard Disk
(If the drive it's already showing on "My Computer, please
skip to the section 6.2).
6.1 When a new drive is not partitioned nor formatted, usu-
ally it is not showed automatically on "My Computer" right in
the first time. Please follow the next steps as following:
. Right-Click with the mouse on "My Computer", select "Ad-
ministration" and on the menu select "Drive Administration"
. The operational interface will show in the computer the
subarea formatting after the operational system.
Attention: On Windows 2000 and XP, the standard choice is
NTFS. However, you may also choose to format the drive with
the option of FAT32 ONLY if the drive is less or equal to 32GB.
6.2 Go to "My Computer", find the removable disk, right-
click with the mouse on it and select "Format" on the menu.
Follow the instructions to complete the formatting process.
PS1: With this formatting method, your drive will have only
one partition with the highest capacity possible, which also is
highly recommended.
7. Backup file software
Please look up the interface help of the software in order to
install and use of the backup software.

Q: I can´t find the drive on my computer, why?
A: Please make sure your drive is not adjusted to "Master".
