Application
The KAWE 21/22 is an electronic device that can
be used to urge animals to move in animal
holding concerns and abattoirs.
Function
The battery powered device generates a one second
high-voltage pulse which is delivered by touching the
animal with the two electrodes.
Animal Welfare
Observe the national regulations that apply to animal
welfare and slaughtering regulations in your country
and within the EU at the time of slaughter or killing.
Electrical prods may only be used on healthy,
uninjured cattle over 1 year old and on pigs over 4
months
old that are refusing to move. The current pulse may
only be applied to the muscles of the hind legs.
Safety Instructions
Carefully read the following instructions
before using the device!
• The device generates a high voltage pulse
of 5000 V. Do not touch the electrodes. Even when
the batteries have been removed, the device can
still generate a voltage pulse (residual charge)!
• Never use the device on people!
• Make sure that the device is kept well away from
children!
• The device is always ready for use when the bat-
teries have been inserted!
• Before cleaning the device, remove the batteries
and discharge the device completely by pressing
in the electrodes!
• Do not operate the device in fluids!
Battery Status
If the indicator lamp only glows dimly when
an impulse is triggered, change the batteries.
Changing the Batteries
The battery compartment is closed by a screw cap.
1. Unscrew the cap and pull it backwards to remove
it.
2. Remove the old batteries and insert new ones
according to the printed diagram.
3. Replace the screw cap and screw it on again.
The device is now ready for use.
