IMPORTANT SAFETY

(((((CONTINUED)
9.
This heater is intended for general heating applications
ONLY. It must NOT be used in potentially dangerous
locations such as flammable, explosive, chemical-
laden or wet atmospheres.
10. Be sure all electrical parts are enclosed to prevent
personal injury.
11. CAUTION: Check branch voltage. Heaters should be
operated at voltages no higher than the heating
elements and the heater are designed for.
voltages, however, pose no problem other than a loss
of wattage).
12.
This heater is NOT waterproof and is not intended to
be used in saunas, showers, or in potentially wet
locations.
HANDCART MOUNTING
Mount heater to handcart cross bars by using the four bolts
mounted on the heater housing.
horizontally where the bolts will rest in four slots in the
crossbars. Tighten bolts.
Failure to operate in a horizontal position will shorten
element life.
The heater can be mounted on either the top two or bottom
two cross bars, enabling an 8 inch height adjustment.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
DISCONNECT HEATER FROM POWER
SUPPLY BEFORE SERVICING OR INSPECTING FOR
ANY REASON. FAILURE TO DO SO COULD RESULT IN
ELECTRICAL SHOCK OR INJURY.
Quartz tubes and gold anodized reflectors should be kept
free from fingerprints, grease and foreign matter. Periodic
washing will assure the most efficient heater operation.
Periodically wipe reflectors and quartz tubes with a clean,
soft cloth; also periodically wipe the tubes with alcohol and
a clean, soft cloth. Be sure to allow tubes to fully cool
down prior to cleaning or performing maintenance.
Replace or repair damaged or worn cords immediately.

1.
For chain suspension, the 4 "S" hooks with chain should be used
to insert into the loops on the back of the heater. Loops are on 27-
3/8" x 17" centers for Model CH-6424-1C; and 18-3/8" x 7" centers
for Model CH-2212-1C. These heaters should always be mounted
so that the quartz tubes are horizontal, or tube burnout will occur.
2.
Be sure that the power source conforms to the heater
requirements.
3.
Plug Model CH-6424-1C into a 240 volt, 30A, 60 Hz. receptacle.

Installation of heating elements:
The heater is equipped with two hi-temperature 12 gauge silicone
lead wires and a ground termination. Make sure power source
conforms to the heater requirements. Use only Fostoria quartz
tubes.

1.
Plug heater into a bonded (grounded) receptacle with a power
source conforming to the heater requirements. Ensure that total
current does not exceed circuit rating.
2.
To energize heater, flip the toggle switches on housing.
3.
To reduce output, flip one toggle switch off.

a.
Remove the sheet metal screws that hold fixture end caps
in place.
Remove screws that hold lamp guard and
reflector in place.
b.
Insert quartz tube between reflector and lamp guard, then
position it in the slots in heater housing.
c.
Loosen terminal screws on ceramic socket (see Fig. 1).
d.
Carefully wrap pigtail of quartz tube clockwise around
screw and tighten screw. Make sure to leave some slack
on pigtail. Do not put pressure on the tube by making the
