DESCRIPTION
Environmental Microphone ME-PS2 is designed for capturing and recording audio in
small courtrooms of courts and prisons, podiums in conference rooms and
municipalities, control panels in security rooms, areas with controlled access, pulpits
of religious service, etc.
 It incorporates a highly sensitive electret microphone with omnidirectional polar
pattern and a preamplifier module.
 It has a balanced output with three selectable output levels: -60 dBu, -30 dBu and
0 dBu.
 It incorporates a potentiometer output volume for sensitivity fine adjustment.
 It works with 24 Vdc that can be supplied from RJ connector or through the PC adapter.
TIPS FOR USING THE ME-PS2 MICROPHONE.
The resulting sound quality of the audio captured with and environmental microphone depends on the physical location, and the
acoustics of the room where it is installed.
The microphone placement should always be the closer as possible to the area where the conversations to capture will take place
since the main purpose is to separate the signal from the background noise. The greater the distance between the microphone and
the sound source is, the greater amplification is required, increasing not only the volume of the voice but also the ambient noise.
 The microphone must be oriented towards the front of the speaker or group discussion and not above or behind the heads.
 Depending on the room acoustics, the optimal capture distance is between 70 cm and 1.5 m. Distances over 3 m do not provide
satisfactory results and the obtained sound can be confusing and unintelligible, especially in reverberant rooms.
 Move the equipment away from any noise sources, even those that are apparently silent.
 Avoid installing the microphone near the outputs of air conditioning, computer fans, mechanical vibrations produced by
fluorescent ballasts or halogen lamps transformers, PA speakers or background music, etc.
