The R-050550 is a practical Pneumatic Chisel designed for easy emptying of models and cylinders in the Den-
tal Lab. For a long working life and optimum performance, we recommend you read carefully the following
instructions:
INSTALLATION
1. Carefully unpack the Pneumatic Chisel. Check the following fittings are included in the packaging:
A 6 mm Ø pneumatic tube for the compressed air connection.
Set of 3 chisels (7, 9, 11 mm).
2. Connect one end of the pneumatic tube to fitting (A) and the other end to the lab's compressed air intake.
Make sure that the maximum pressure supplied to the Pneumatic Chisel does not exceed 6 atm.
3. Insert the chisel you wish to use in the chisel holder (B). Make sure it is correctly inserted, and does not fall
from the Pneumatic Chisel in the vertical position. The machine is ready for operation.
ATTENTION: This Pneumatic Chisel was designed to work at a maximum pressure of 6 atm. Do not ex-
ceed this level under any circumstances.
HOW TO USE THE PNEUMATIC CHISEL
1. Turn the set valve ring (C) gently anticlockwise.
2. The chisel will start working. Regulate the percussion rating by turning the set valve. Bring the tip of the
chisel up to the model to be emptied, and proceed to empty it.
3. If the internal piston is dead centre, the Pneumatic Chisel may not start automatically. If this is the case, tap
the tip of the chisel firmly against the model. This will move the internal piston and the Pneumatic Chisel
will start.
4. After use, rotate the set valve clockwise until the Pneumatic Chisel stops.
5. If you have a Starting Pedal (see "Attachments"), you may use this to operate the Pneumatic Chisel.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

1. Remove dust from the Pneumatic Chisel after use.
2. We recommend oiling the inner mechanism on a weekly basis, as follows:
Place the Pneumatic Chisel in the upright position with the Chisel holder (B) facing upwards.
Put 4 or 5 small drops of fine oil into the Chisel holder (B).
Leave the Pneumatic Chisel in this position for a few minutes.
If you have a Filter Regulator + Oiler Attachment (see "Attachments" section), it is not necessary to oil
the unit regularly.
ATTACHMENTS
The Pneumatic Chisel has the following attachments available:
1. Filter Regulator + Oiler Attachment (R-050551): this includes:
A pressure-adjuster rated to a maximum pressure of 6 atm.
A pneumatic oiler.
A pressure gauge.
A coupling nut for connection to the 6 Ø pneumatic tube.
An oil can.
