Before you use the tool for the first time
Unpack your air hydraulic riveter and check all of the parts for potential shipping damage.
Dispose of the packaging material or keep it in a place out of children's reach. Plastic bags and
similar make dangerous toys for children.
Using the tool for the first time
1.
Your air hydraulic riveter is equipped with a ¼" compressed air connector. Do not fasten
the the compressed air hose directly to your riveter – use the quick coupling instead for
your own safety.
2.
Seal off the end of the quick coupling using Teflon tape before attaching it to the air
connector on your air hydraulic riveter.
3.
Your air hydraulic riveter will need a lubricant supply during operation. Drop a little oil into
the compressed air supply or use a mist lubricator before you use the tool. Also refer to
the section on lubrication.
4.
Connect the riveting tool to the compressor using a flexible air hose. Set the compressor
a pressure of around 6 bar. Check the air pressure connections for leaks, and turn the
compressor off again.
5.
Use a compatible nosepiece to ensure proper operation and flawless riveting –
nosepiece and rivet diameters must match.
6.
Screw the safety cap with the retainer nut onto the threads of the end cap by turning it
clockwise. Make sure you line up the the safety cap with the notch facing upwards.
7.
Insert the corresponding nosepiece into the frame head.
8.
Switch the compressor on.
9.
Insert the rivet into the nosepiece. Keep the rivet at right angles to the workpiece to be
riveted. Remember that the rivet hole diameter will be 0.1 mm larger than the diameter of
the rivet.
10.
Hold the riveting tool firmly by the grip and pull the trigger for the riveter to drive in the
rivet.
