Using the kit
The temperature sensor connects to the Xantrex Battery Monitor by inserting its RJ12 plug into the Xantrex Battery Monitor expansion port.
When your battery monitoring system also includes an Isolated XBM to RS232 interface box, the temperature sensor must be connected to
the TEMP. SENSOR input on the interface box.
The actual temperature sensor is housed in a metal M8 ring terminal for easy mounting on the negative terminal of the battery.
When routing the temperature sensor cable from the Xantrex Battery Monitor to the battery system, avoid running it along with mains cables
over long distances or near large relays or generators/motors.
Do not forget to change Function F11 in the Xantrex Battery Monitor setup menu to AU. Otherwise the Xantrex Battery Monitor will still
calculate with the current fixed temperature value. Changing Function F11 to AU will also enable temperature readout in the normal
operating mode.
WARNING
The temperature sensor must be mounted on the
negative (–) terminal of your battery system.
