TROUBLESHOOTING
1. Audio is monaural:
When using an RF Modulator, the audio will always be
monaural – even though the video source is in stereo.
2. No audio:
a. Make sure the audio cable is connected to the video source
(DVD/Blu-ray
player, gaming system, etc.) and on the RF
™
Modulator (red plug to red connector and white plug to white
connector).
b. If you connected the video source using an S-video cable, make
sure you also connect the audio cable from the video source
(DVD/Blu-ray
player, gaming system, etc.) to the RF Modulator
™
(red plug to the red connector and white plug to the white
connector).
c. Make sure the coaxial cable is connected to the TV and is tight.
(This would be the cable from the RF Modulator labeled "TO TV").
d. Make sure the RF Modulator is plugged securely into a
working 120V AC outlet, and the barrel end is plugged into
the "DC 9V-12V" on the RF Modulator.
e. If you still cannot hear audio, try replacing the audio cable. (The
cable that has only the red and white plugs on both ends).
3. No picture from video source:
a. If you used an audio/video composite cable (cable with red,
white, and yellow connectors) make sure the yellow plugs are
completely plugged into the yellow connectors on the RF
Modulator and on the video source (DVD/Blu-ray™ player,
gaming system, etc.).
b. If your RF Modulator has S-video capabilities, make sure you do
not have both the S-video cable and the composite yellow plug
connected at the same time; this will cancel each other out.
Unplug either the S-video cable or the composite yellow plug
from the RF Modulator and the video source (DVD/Blu-ray™
player, gaming system, etc.).
c. Make sure the coaxial cable is connected to the TV and is tight.
(This would be the cable from the RF Modulator labeled "TO TV").
d. Make sure the channels are set the same on the RF Modulator
and the TV (either channel 3 or 4).
SET UP OPTION 1
Composite Audio/Video Cable (red/white/yellow)
1. Connect a Composite AV cable (not included) from the out jacks of
your source device (DVD/Blu-ray™ player, gaming system, etc.) to
the corresponding color input jack on the RF Modulator.
2. Connect a coaxial cable (not included) from your source device
(cable/satellite box or TV antenna) to the jack labeled ANT IN.
3. Connect the coaxial cable from the RF Modulator labeled
"TO TV" to the TV.
NOTE: If you do not have cable/satellite or an antenna, you will only
need to connect the coaxial cable from the RF Modulator labeled
"TO TV" to the coax input on the TV. If your TV has only 300-ohm VHF
screw terminals, use a 75-ohm to 300-ohm matching transformer.
4. Connect the barrel plug on the included power adapter to the
9V – 12V jack on the RF Modulator. Then plug the adapter into the
nearest electrical outlet.
5. Turn on the TV and set it to either channel 3 or 4 (whichever does
not receive broadcasting), then set the same channel selection to
RF Modulator using the "Channel 3/4" switch.

TV broadcasting again, turn the source device off. The modulator
will automatically switch for you.
