Short-time operation
The appliance is designed to be operated for
a short period, i.e. the hair trimmer can be
operated without interruption for a maximum
of 20 minutes. Operation can be resumed
after the appliance has cooled down for
approximately 30 minutes.
Use
Adjusting the cutting length
– The side adjusting lever allows smooth
adjustment of the cutting length from
approx. 1 to 1.6 mm, even during
operation.
– The push-on combs provided extend the
range of the cutting length and are fi tted
onto the trimming comb. After use, remove
the attachment at the back and lift it off.
Operation
– Before cutting, the hair should be clean and
thoroughly combed fi rst.
– When cutting longer hair, use a push-on
comb or cut hair above a normal comb.
Always start with the largest push-on comb,
as this will help you to get a feel for cutting
the hair to the desired length.
– For shorter hair-cuts, follow-up with a
smaller push-on comb or without any comb
attachment.
– Cut from bottom to top with the trimming
comb lying against the head; lead the
appliance upwards through the hair, moving
it gradually away from the head at the same
time.
– For a shaped cut, reverse the appliance and
shorten the hair from top to bottom without
a push-on comb.
Care and Cleaning
It is essential to switch off the unit and
remove the plug from the wall socket before
cleaning and oiling.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, the
appliance must not be immersed in liquid
or even allowed to come into contact with
liquid.
Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions.
– If necessary, the housing may be wiped
with a dry, lint-free cloth.
Trimming comb and trimming blade
– After each use, use the cleaning brush
to remove the hair between the trimming
comb and the trimming blade.
– The trimming comb and trimming blade
can be removed for occasional thorough
cleaning by loosening the fi xing screws.
During re-assembly, the trimming comb
must be precisely aligned with the trimming
blade. Take extreme care that the trimming
blade does not protrude over the trimming
comb. With the adjustment lever set to
its minimum cutting length, the distance
between the tips of the trimming blade and
the trimming comb should be at least 1
mm.
After cleaning, and also after the appliance
has been used for approx. 20 minutes, put
a few drops of acid-free oil between the
trimming comb and the trimming blade
and then switch the appliance briefl y on
to ensure that the oil is well and evenly
distributed. Regular oiling will guarantee
good cutting performance over a long
period and thus a long service life.
– When the appliance is not in use, put the
protective cover over the trimming comb.
Disposal
Do not dispose of old or defective
appliances in domestic garbage;
this should only be done through
public collection points.
