ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Turn off circuit breakers and wall
switch to the fan supply line leads.
DANGER: Failure to
disconnect power supply prior
to installation may result in
serious injury or death.
2. Remove the light kit or switch
housing from existing fan.
Disconnect light kit wiring and
set light kit aside. Unscrew and
discard the pull chain ring from
existing fan switch, then gently
lower fan switch with wiring from
switch housing. Note: The new fan
switch is made for 3-4 wires.
3. To help release each wire from the
new fan switch, slide a paper clip
(not included) into each terminal
and pull out the wire. Locate the
word "STRIP" on the fan switch
and note the length of the line
above it. For safety, the lead on
each wire that is removed should

be this length; if it isn't, use wire strippers (not included) to
re-strip the wire to the proper length and then twist tightly for
easy connection to the terminal.
Once each wire has been attached to new fan switch, pull
gently to ensure each one is secure. If pulling on a wire
causes it to come out, it has not been inserted correctly
and must be redone.
WARNING: Failure to verify connection of wires may
result in fire, electrical shock or personal injury.
4. Unscrew pull chain ring from new
fan switch. Gently push wiring and
fan switch into switch housing.
Feed threaded part of fan switch
through hole in switch housing.
Secure fan switch with the pull
chain ring. Re-wire light kit and
re-attach light kit or switch housing
cap to fan.
Restore power to fan and test fan switch (and light kit,
if applicable).
