ExFAT is compatible with Windows and Mac OS too, without size limitation for files.
APFS is an Apple format, only compatible with recent MacOS (MacOS 10.13 High
Sierra at least)
MacOS extended (any version) is compatible with all MacOS.
STEP 6: Click on the menu "Layout" and select the partition table format.
GUID Partition table matches GPT, is compatible with modern OS and 64 bits,
without size limitation. Recommended option.
Master Boot record (MBR) is compatible with older systems but cannot support
drives of more than 2 To.
