GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This vacuum cleaner is a double-insulated appliance. Two systems of insulation are provided instead of
grounding. No means of grounding is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor should a mean for
grounding be added to the appliance. Servicing a double-insulated appliance requires extreme care
and knowledge of the system, and should be done only be qualified service personnel. Replacement
parts for a double-insulated appliance must be identical to the parts they replace.

EXTENSION CORDS

! WARNING:
Inadequate extension cords can be dangerous.
When using where an extension cord is necessary, a 2-conductor grounding cord must be used for safety
as well as cord and plug must be of watertight construction. This will also help prevent overheating and
loss of power. Do not use any AWG smaller than 14. Use AWG 14GA for 25-50 feet cord and AWG
12GA for cord over 50 feet.
Before using appliance, inspect power cord for loose or exposed wires and damaged insulation. Make
any needed repairs or replacements before using your appliance.
NOTE: STATIC SHOCKS ARE COMMON IN DRY AREAS OR WHEN THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF
AIR IS LOW. THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY AND DOES NOT AFFECT THE USE. TO REDUCE THE
FREQUENCY OF STATIC SHOCKS IN YOUR HOME, THE BEST REMEDY IS TO ADD MOISTURE
TO THE AIR WITH A CONSOLE OR INSTALLED HUMIDIFIER.
