Garden Trimmer Safety
WARNING: Always keep hands and body parts away from the blade. Contact with the
blade can result in serious injury to the operator or bystanders. Ensure the switch is OFF and
the blades are at a complete standstill when clearing jammed debris.
• During transportation, always carry the trimmer by its handle, with the power off and blade
at a complete standstill. Correct handling of the trimmer will minimise the risk of injury
• Always hold the trimmer by its insulated gripping surfaces only, so in the event that the
blade or any exposed metal on the tool makes contact with a 'live' wire, the risk of electric
shock will be minimised
• Always keep the cable away from the cutting area. Accidentally striking the cable while it is
connected to the tool could result in electric shock
• DO NOT use this tool in the rain or in damp/wet conditions

Grass trimming
WARNING: The blades keep moving for a short while after the trimmer has been switched off.
• For optimum cutting results, ensure the grass is dry prior to cutting
• When cutting tall grass, cut in sections, working from the top down
• Always keep hands and limbs away from the blade; maintain stable footing and do not
overreach
• Overloading the motor will cause the blade to run slower and become less effective.
Reduce the load to maintain cutting efficiency
• Tilting the tool at a slight angle will increase the effectiveness of the cut
Hedge trimming
WARNING: The blades will coast to a halt after the trimmer has been switched off.
Note: It is recommended to use the Trimmer Blade (1) when trimming thicker shrubbery.
• Tilting the tool at a slight angle will increase the effectiveness of the cut
• Cut the hedge in small stages while working from the outside. Take extra care when
trimming thicker areas of shrubbery
• Always assess the work area prior to trimming. Ensure there are no foreign objects or
debris that might come into contact with the blade
• Regularly lubricate the blades using a suitable spray lubricant. The extra cutting load will
cause the blades to dry out quickly
