INSTALLATION SITE AND TRANSPORT
Installation site
The vacuum pump must be installed in an adequately ventilated dust-free and frost-free room.
The ambient temperature must be between +5°C and +40°C.
For temperatures outside this range, please contact us.
Ensure that the pump is not installed near heat radiation devices or pipes.
If the vacuum pump is to be incorporated in machinery assemblies, ensure that ventilation is
adequate.
The vacuum pump will only operate correctly on a horizontal surface capable of supporting the
total mass of the pump and its accessories. Operation on an inclined surface may cause damage
to the pump. In addition, the oil level reading may be incorrect. Make sure to install the pump
so that the nameplate and the oil light are visible and accessible.
Above 1000 meters of altitude, vacuum pump performance is impaired (flow rate, final pressure).
Consult us.
Pump reception
Before installation, check the pump at reception and check the following points:
•
Shock or deformation of the protective cover,
•
General condition of the pump,
•
Possible leaks,
•
Mounting brackets,
•
Compliance.

Long-term shutdown
If the vacuum pump is to remain out of service for a fairly long period of time (more than 3 months) or is
not going to be put into service until a later date, empty the pump, fill it with rust-inhibiting oil, run it for 10
minutes then drain off the rust-inhibiting oil. Blank the openings with adhesive tape; store the pump in a
dry place. The pump must not be stored in a place that is damp and/or subject to large temperature
variations.
Shipping
The machines must be correctly packed in their original packaging before shipping. It is preferable to secure
the package to a European pallet so that it cannot overturn.
Mounting
The vacuum pumps have four silentblocs with tapped holes in the base 4 x M10.
We recommend that you use these tapped holes to mount the pump on a base frame.

SIRELLA SL100.R / SL150.R / SL300.R
Use the lifting rings provided for that purpose. Never place slings under the pump.
The suction and discharge ports are protected during transport by caps or stickers. Remove these covers
before commissioning the pump.
Never operate the pump with these guards, as this may destroy the pump.
Temperature monitoring sensor connection
Connect the suction to the process, preferably via a flexible connection, with filters inserted beforehand if
necessary. The flexible connection must withstand the final pressure (5 kPa absolute). For the pipe
diameter, at least the connection diameter must be observed. Remember to seal your connections.
To protect the pump, it is recommended to install an upstream filter or separator connected to the suction.
Consult us. This filter must be mounted on the pump in such a way that no solid or liquid particles enter the
pump when replacing the filter element.
The pump is equipped with a non-return check valve to isolate the pump if the enclosure upstream of the
suction port remains vacuumised when the pump stops.
Handling
INSTALLATION AND PUTTING INTO SERVICE
Installation
The vacuum pump is delivered with a temperature monitoring sensor that must be connected.
The maximum permissible operating temperature is 290°C.

Suction
Never operate the vacuum pump with an open suction connection.
Undersized and/or excessively long suction piping reduces pump performance.
The suction pressure must not exceed the atmospheric pressure.
