Operating Instructions
Operation
The time and frequency of operations is adjustable. The adjusting knob controls the
duration from 0.5 seconds to 10 seconds. The second adjusting knob controls the
frequency of the drain operation from 0.5 minutes to 45 minutes.
High humidity conditions and frequent compressor operation will produce more
condensate in the tank and require the Automatic Drain to operate longer and more
frequently. Adjust the duration knob to a higher number and the frequency knob to a
lower number.
Lower humidity conditions and less frequent compressor operation will produce less
condensate in the tank and allow the Automatic Drain to operate shorter and less
frequently. Adjust the duration knob to a lower number and the frequency knob to a
higher number if desired.
Adjustments made for changing weather conditions and compressor operation will
ensure that all condensate is drained from the tank while minimizing the loss of
compressed air.
The Automatic Drain is equipped with ON/OFF indicating lights. The OFF light will
illuminate when power is applied to the drain. The ON light will illuminate when the
drain is operating.
All condensate drained from the tank may contain oil. Dispose of properly.
Maintenance
Perform a manual test weekly.
The Automatic Electric Tank Water Drain valve includes a manual test which should
be performed weekly to insure proper operation is occurring. The valve includes a
filter screen which may require cleaning. If during a manual test air and water do not
flow out then check the condition of the filter screen as described in the maintenance
section.
Monthly (or more frequent if needed), clean the filter screen (See Figure 5). The
Automatic valve includes a manual shut-off valve which can be used to turn off the air
pressure from the air tank to service the filter screen.
Drain tank regularly to prevent rust and to prolong the life of the tank.
