Function
System information
This device is a product of the KNX system and
conforms to the KNX Directives. Detailed knowled-
ge attained through KNX training is a prerequisite
for understanding.
The device function is software-dependent. De-
tailed information about software versions and the
respective function scope, as well as the software
itself can be found in the manufacturer's product
database. The device is planned, installed and com-
missioned by means of KNX-certified software. The
product database and the technical descriptions can
be found on our website at all times.
Correct use
•
Connection of KNX devices to PC or other data
processing devices via IP
•
Operation as line/area coupler or data interface
•
Installation on top-hat rail in sub-distributor
i
Operation as line/area coupler requires network
components, which support IP-multi-casting.
Network routers must be configured so as to
allow IP-multicast telegrams to be forwarded.
i
Depending on usage, requirements for access,
data security and data volume, it may make
sense for individual services that use the IP
network to install their own network paths.

KNX lines, areas and systems via the IP net-
work

Start-up
When switched on, the display (Figure 2) shows the
product name. Network default setting is DHCP.
The boot time is approx. 2 seconds.
Once the DHCP server has a valid IP address to
the router, this address appears in the first lines of
the display prefixed by „D".
If you assign a static IP-address, „S" appears and
„Z" appears for an IP-address obtained via zero-
conf.
The physical KNX bus address is displayed in the
second line (prefixed by „K"). For the routing functi-
on, the address must take the form „x.y.0" or „x.0.0"
(x,y: numeral between 0 and 15).
Lastly, the display shows „T" followed by a numeral
between 0 and 5. This numeral indicates the active
tunnel connections.
The green LED flashes to indicate activity on the
LAN connection, the yellow LED indicates KNX bus
activity. The red LED is active when the program-
ming key on the router has been pressed.
