Apply a flame to the nozzle elbow to melt the wax accumulated inside. Tilt the burner to allow the
●
wax to flow out freely through the flame nozzle.
After removing the wax, apply a ¼ turn to the flame nozzle to return to the initial position, and
●
connect the burner to the gas mains as described above, in reverse order.
PRECAUTIONS
♦ Before connecting the burner, ensure that the gas supply is correct (butane, natural gas).
♦ Only connect the unit to a gas supply which has undergone official inspections performed by licensed
technicians.
♦ Make sure that the rubber hose and connection clasp of the burner to the gas mains are solid and
secure.
♦ Never allow children or unqualified staff to use the burner.
♦ Make sure the flame has a bright blue base and a strong yellow tip. Reddish colors, and black smoke
in particular, indicate poor combustion. Always avoid this situation using the airflow valve.
♦ After using the burner, always close the shutoff cock and gas mains stopcock.
♦ Always position the burner in your laboratory well away from inflammable products.
♦ Never leave the burner operating unattended.
♦ If you smell gas, close the mains stopcock immediately and inform a licensed technician.
