4. When styling is complete, always switch off the
ghd curve and unplug it from the power supply.
5. Wait for the ghd curve to cool before storing.
6. After styling the heater barrel remains hot – for safe
cooling cover the plates with the heat proof plate guard.
7. When the ghd curve has cooled, fold the power cord in
the same way as it was first delivered in its packaging.
Do not wind it around your hand or the body of the
ghd curve as this can lead to early failure of the
power cord.
Servicing of double-insulated appliances
Your ghd product is a (class II) double insulated
electrical appliance and should not be connected
to an earth connection.
In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation
are provided instead of grounding. No grounding means
is provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor should a
means for grounding be added to the appliance. Servicing
a double-insulated appliance requires extreme care and
knowledge of the system, and should be done only by
qualified service personnel. Replacement parts for a
double-insulated appliance must be identical to the parts
they replace.
A double-insulated appliance is marked with the words
"DOUBLE INSULATION" or "DOUBLE INSULATED".
The symbol (square within a square) may also be
marked on the appliance.

This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider
than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully

contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat
this safety feature.
Application Leakage Circuit Interrupter
Your appliance is equipped with an Application Leakage

the appliance inoperable under some abnormal conditions

be performed:
1. Plug in your appliance and press the yellow test
button on the plug.
2. This will cause the appliance to stop working.
3. To reset the appliance press the red reset button.
If the ALCI protection device becomes inoperable or
starts to malfunction, please contact ghd Professional,
North America Inc. at 877-GHD-ANGEL (1-887-443-2643)
for further advice.
Every time you use your appliance you should check
that the ALCI protection device functions correctly.
