Battery Installation
The Rescue 3100 is
designed to use a sealed
PowerSports type battery
measuring 6-1/2" tall, 7"
long and 3" deep with top
terminals, or a standard
U-1 battery. Quick Cable
recommends that this
installation be performed
by the selling dealer or
trained personnel.
Be Sure to Observe Correct Polarity
• The cables inside the Rescue 3100 are red (positive) and black (negative).
• Before connecting to a battery, double check the battery markings.
• Connecting a battery backwards can cause permanent damage to your Rescue 3100.

Open the back of the battery case by pressing
down on the two tabs at the top of the case pan-
el, and pull the panel away from the power pack.
There are two metal brackets attached to the
case with thumbscrews (a Phillips head recess
is provided if extra leverage is needed). Remove
the two brackets. Note that the top bracket has a
tab along its top edge.
Connect the red cable to the positive terminal on the battery,
and connect the black cable to the negative terminal on the
battery. Push the battery in place inside the Rescue 3100
and install the metal retaining brackets. The bracket with the
tab is the top bracket and the tab will fit over a U1 battery.
Tighten the brackets securely.
There is a styrofoam spacer block inside the Rescue 3100.
If you are installing a PowerSports style battery, remove the
styrofoam block, install the battery and place the styrofoam
against the battery. Secure with retaining brackets. If you are
installing a U-1 battery, remove the styrofoam spacer and
retain for possible future use.
Replace the plastic battery cover.
