• Position in which distance indicator
cannot be seen (Fig. 1-A)
The lens will operate in the focus mode set by
the camera.
• Position in which distance indicator can be
seen (Fig. 1-B)
The lens will operate in the MF mode,
regardless of the focus mode set by the
camera.
Focus by rotating the lens focus ring.

The AF stops functioning while the button is
pressed.

depending on your camera. For details, see the
instruction manual that came with your camera.

To remove the hood, rotate it while pressing the
release.
Notes on Shooting
• You cannot shoot when the lens is retracted.
Before you start shooting, turn the zoom ring
to extend the lens until the focal distance
indicator shows a value between 8 mm and
25 mm.
• To retract the lens, turn the zoom ring until
the retraction index (4) is aligned with "-"
(Fig. 4).
• If autofocus (AF) is unavailable, check the
sliding position of the focus ring.
• Edges of pictures may be cut off if more than
one filter is used or if a thick filter is used.
• When using a flash, flash light may be blocked
by the lens body, lens hood, etc.
