Important: Keep puller screw and bearing lubricated.
Removal from shafts not requiring special adapters – See Illustration A
1. Select end of threaded puller body segment (4) that best fits pulley hub.
2. Push removing adapter (11) into puller screw (9).
3. Thread puller screw into threaded half of puller body.
4. Install threaded puller body segment with pusher screw over pulley hub.
5. Attach other half of puller body over hub by aligning slot in small segment with pin on big segment.
Screw handle (7) into puller body and tighten.
6. Hold Handle (7) to keep from rotating. Use 7/16" wrench or impact tool to remove pulley from shaft.
Removal of GM 3.1 and Quad 4 Pulleys – See Illustration B
1. Select end of threaded puller body segment (4) that best fits pulley hub.
2. Thread puller screw (9) into threaded half of puller body,
3. Select Proper removing adapter (8 or 10).
4. Install threaded puller body segment with pusher screw over pulley hub.
5. Attach other half of puller body over hub and screw handle (7) into puller body and tighten.
6. Hold handle (7) to keep from rotating. Use 7/16" wrench or impact tool to remove pulley from shaft.
Pulley Installation – See Illustration C
1. Install bearing, washer and nut (3) in order on puller screw.
2. Select proper installing adapter (1, 2, 5 or 6) and thread short end of adapter into puller screw.
3. Once installing adapter is threaded into puller screw (9), place threaded end through pulley and
thread into pulley shaft.
4. Hold puller screw with 7/16" wrench and tighten nut with 15/16" wrench until pulley is in proper
position. Refer to manual if necessary.
