Preparation
• Disconnect negative battery pole.
• Clean surface on engine for optimum ground connection.
Installation
• Install regulator without lid on engine case surface where the
cut-out relay would mount.
• Connect terminal (1) to the generator terminal that is marked „A"
or „Relay", and to the dashboard indicator light.
• Connect terminal (2) with the supplied short black/white wire to
the generator terminal that ist marked „F" or „Switch".
• Connect terminal (3) to dashboard main switch or to battery po-
sitive pole.
• If you had a three brush generator formerly mounted and are swit-
ching to a 2 brush type, carefully isolate the green wire coming
from the dashboard main switch. It is no longer needed.
• Reconnect the ground wire on the negative battery pole.
• Start the engine.
• Observe the LEDs on the regulator board. Green means everything
is ok and you can replace the lid on the regulator. Red means your
generator is not polarized correctly. No LED means a faulty wiring.

Troubleshooting
Red LED stays on: wrong polarization on generator fields. To correct,
• shut off engine and disconnect positive battery wire.
• Disconnect wire from terminal (2) on the regulator.
• Disconnect wire(s) from terminal (1) on the regulator.
• With a jumper wire flash the „A" or „Relay" terminal on the gene-
rator from the battery positive pole (0.5 sec max.). Repeat 3 - 5
times.
• Reconnect wires on terminal (1) and (2) on the regulator and
positive battery pole.
• Start engine and observe LED function on the regulator board. The
green LED should come on.
• If not, shut off engine and check the internal wiring of the gene-
rator.
• The dashboard generator indicator light stays always on: the ge-
nerator is not charging or the dashboard indicator light is not
wired correctly.
• Correct wiring of the indicator light is one side to main switch
(positive terminal), the other side to generator „A" (or „Relay" in
the case of a 32E generator that is converted to 2 brush system).
• Bulbs burning out fast: battery wiring or the battery itself is bad.
The battery cannot take the voltage and current the regulator is
producing.
• Check urgently before burning more bulbs and possibly your re-
gulator.
