16) The pump must be connected to an earthed socket.
17) The pump can be submerged into water up to a maximum
depth, as indicated by the symbol
or
on the appliance (Fig.
2 on page 38).
18) WARNING: For FONTANA adv 8000 only (fig.3 on page
38). This appliance uses a particularly powerful magnet.
Consequently the magnetic field that is produced out from
the pump motor can cause malfunctioning or electronic or
mechanical failures to other appliances. For this reason it
is recommended to keep a distance of at least 30 cm from
magnet to pace-makers, credit cards, cash-point cards,
magnetic keys or others (check on the instructions manuals
of the relative appliances). Additionally, in order to reduce
risk of squeezing pay attention during the maintenance
operations and during clearing operations of the rotor-
impeller. Also in this case it is recommended to keep the
magnet at least 10 cm far from any surface or metallic
objects to avoid abrupt magnetic attraction.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• This appliance is intended to be permanently
connected to the mains, other than by means of a
plug and socket.
• A 3-amp fuse must be fitted in the supply circuit.
• A complete disconnection of all electrical poles
must be made possible. All wiring must be in
accordance to Overvoltage Category III conditions
and to the local wiring rules.
• The wires in this main lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code: BROWN=LINE,
BLUE=NEUTRAL, GREEN/YELLOW=EARTH.
• This operation must be carried out by a qualified
electrician.
18) SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!
INSTALLATION
:
The pump is equipped with accessories to create
different water jets (Fig. 5/ A-B-C on page 39). Furthermore, the pump
can be connected to hard pipes or flexible hoses of various diameters,
for example, to create waterfalls (Fig. 5/D page 39). The telescopic
tube is equipped with a cock, which allows the water flow of the water
jet to be adjusted (Fig. 4 page 38). A second outlet is present in the
telescopic tube, also equipped with an adjustment cock, which allows
the pump to be connected to another hard pipe or flexible hose (FNT
adv 800 excluded) to create another water jet (as shown in Fig. 5/E
on page 39).
MAINTENANCE
Rotating parts need to be regularly accessed for cleaning. To this
purpose it is recommended to not use any chemical detergents.
FONTANA adv 800/1200:
follow the instructions on page 40.
Remove the impeller chamber, take out the rotor and proceed with
cleaning.

FONTANA adv 2300/3000:
follow the instructions on page 42.
Unfasten the screws, remove the impeller chamber, and take out the
rotor and proceed with cleaning.
FONTANA adv 4500/6000/8000:
follow the instructions on page
44. - FONTANA adv 8000: after having carefully positioned the pump
on the rear cover, remove the screws. Keep the impeller disc attached
to the pump motor unit, using one of the free eye bolts. Remove
the impeller chamber by pushing the outlet pipe towards the work
surface (Fig.8 page 44). Take out the rotor with the impeller and
proceed with cleaning.
Replace all parts in reverse order: re-introduce the impeller chamber
in its seating, ensuring that the bushing is positioned correctly on the
bottom of the well. When re-inserting the rotor, pay attention to its
magnetic power in order to avoid any damage and injury to the fingers.
FONTANA adv 4500-6000-8000: Turn the impeller disk, paying attention
to follow the reference marks placed on the impeller and on motor
body of the pump (Fig.12 page 44). Using the screws, fix the impeller
chamber to the pump in the position indicated in Fig.15 on page 45.
FONTANA adv 8000: Place the impeller chamber making sure that the
screw lodging is not next to the fastening eyelets. Rotate it clock-wise until
the stop, then insert the screws and screw to fasten it (Fig.14 page 44).
Put the sponge back onto the pump. Put the pump with the sponge
back into the shell, inserting it into the special slides positioned inside.
Close the pump with the remaining shell and fasten the screws.
ATTENTION: The rotor is provided with a ceramic shaft, that
is wear-resistant, but fragile. Pay utmost attention during
maintenance operations.
TROUBLE-SHOUTING GUIDELINES
If there is insufficient water coming out of the pump:
• Check that the pump intake is clean and without any
obstructions
• Check that there are no kinks in the connected tubes
If the pump stops working:
• Check that the pump is correctly powered.
• Make sure that the water level is not too low. The intake
tube of the pump must be below the water level both on
submerged and external applications.
• Check that the rotor doesn't have any obstructions
FONTANA adv 800: the motor is self-protected against
uncharacteristic overheating caused by misuse, running-dry or
jammed rotor.
FONTANA adv 1200-2300-3000: the pump is provided with a
self-resetting thermal protector. If the pump stopped working,
please investigate if the thermal cut-off has been activated by
first disconnecting the appliance from the electrical supply for
approximately 1 hour, then remedy the cause that made the
appliance stop, and reconnect to the socket again.
FONTANA adv 4500-6000-8000: the pump is provided with an
electronic device for rotation control and this is also able to
evaluate the functioning conditions. If there is lack of water or
blocked rotor the pump recognizes the problem and stops. After
English
10 attempts (FONTANA adv 8000: 5 attempts) to start again, in
the space of 1 minute, the pump turns off completely. In this
case unplug and remove the cause of the problem. After re-
connecting the pump,it will resume working.
