INSTALLATION, OPERATION, & PARTS MANUAL
DESCRIPTION
Shallow well ejector package (Model BK4855) consists of a
bolt-on cast-iron shallow well ejector, necessary mounting
hardware, and an assortment of nozzles and venturis to suit
your well conditions. For use with Berkeley pump Models
05SL, 07SL, 10SL and 15SL.
GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
Follow safety instructions in your pump owner's manual. Be
sure pump is turned off and all pressure is released before
working on system.

ASSEMBLY
1. Select nozzle and venturi according to Table I.
2. Use a 5/8" deepwell socket to thread nozzle into ejector
(See Figure 2).
3. Thread venturi into ejector hand tight (See Figure 2).
INSTALLATION
1. Mount ejector and gasket to pump body (See Figure 3).
Venturi goes into upper port in pump body. Use two
sockethead capscrews provided with ejector to secure
ejector to pump. Tighten capscrews evenly.
2. Screw suction piping into check valve on end of ejector.
Use Teflon tape to seal joint.
IMPORTANT: Built-in check valve eliminates the need for a
line check except in cases of a long horizontal run in the
suction piping.
3. For standard tank installations, an air volume control
(AVC) is necessary.
a. Mount the 1-1/4 x 1/4" bushing (supplied in fittings
kit) in the end of the tank. Use Teflon tape on male
threads.
b. Screw the right angle compression fitting into the bot-
tom port of the AVC.
c. Remove 1/8" pipe plug on the shallow well ejector
and install 1/8" compression fitting (See Figure 3).

d. Cut tubing to length and assemble to pump and AVC
using nuts, sleeves, and inserts furnished.
