Taking an Axillar y Temperature (Under the Ar m)
Wipe the underarm with a dry towel and place the probe tip under the arm so
the tip is touching the skin with the thermometer perpendicular to the body.
Position the arm across the chest so the probe tip is well covered by the arm.
Approximate measuring time: 2~3 minutes
Note: Axillary temperatures are generally 1.0°F (0.5°C) lower than oral readings.
Taking a Rectal Temperature
Apply a water-soluble lubricant to the probe cover. Gently insert the probe into
the rectum (a maximum 1/2 inch.)
Approximate measuring time: 1 minute
Note: Rectal temperatures are generally 1.0°F (0.5°C) higher than oral readings.

Replacing the Battery

The battery in your digital thermometer needs to be replaced when " " appears
in the lower-right corner of the display. Replace the battery with a 1.5V LR41
silver oxide or AG3 alkaline battery (or equivalent.)
To replace the batter y:
1. Pull the battery cover away from the unit.
2. Pull out the battery holder about 18mm.
3. Use suitable tool to remove the old battery and add a new battery.

Cleaning Instructions

Before and after each use, clean the thermometer with a soft cloth and
isopropyl alcohol diluted with water, or wash with cold soapy water. Do not
soak for an extended period of time or sterilize by boiling method, gas or steam
autoclaves.

General Care

1. The thermometer should only be used under the supervision of an adult.
2. Do not walk, run, eat, drink or talk during temperature measurement.
3. Store the unit in the protective case when not in use.
4. Do no store the unit where it will be exposed to direct sunlight, dust or
humidity. Avoid extreme temperatures.
5. Dropping or subjecting your thermometer to strong shocks should be
avoided.
6. Do not attempt to disassemble the unit, except to replace the battery.
