2. Devices and functional description
Each product group (PGs, controller, other accessories) is available and can be ordered separately!
2.1
Functional description
The pump group with the heating circuit controller is used to supply a heating network with heating
water. Pressure and temperature differentials are analysed as output variables in the control system.
In this way, the volume flow is controlled. It is always the largest of the two pump outputs calculated
from the pressure and temperature differentials that is used as the output variable to regulate the
pump. This method enables the continuous calculation of the effective pump output required. As soon
as a drop in differential pressure is detected in the system, the controller automatically resets the
pump output accordingly to guarantee a minimum level of supply.
2.2
Differential temperature dependent calculation of pump output
The device measures the supply and return temperature of the heating circuit. The current pump
output required in the heating circuit is calculated from the difference between the set and actual
value (temperature differential). At too small a temperature differential the control system identifies
that the heating circuit is oversupplied and reduces the pump output according to the difference. At
too great a temperature differential the control system identifies that the heating circuit is
undersupplied and increases the pump output according to the difference. The control system keeps
the temperature differential between the supply and return flow of the heating circuit constantly at
the defined set value. There follows a variation
in the mass flow.
