Testing of the Alarm
To verify the circuitry is operating properly, a Test/Reset button is
built into the unit which will facilitate its testing. To test the unit,
simply press down on the button during normal operation and note
the operation of the RED indicator. The RED indicator will light
continuously and the audible alarm will sound continuously as
long as the button is held down. Once you release the Test/Reset
button the RED indicator will return to blinking at a three-second
rate and the audible alarm will be deactivated, thus indicating the
unit has returned to a normal operating mode. You should test the
unit monthly. Internal diagnostics monitor the operation of the
sensor whenever the TEST/RESET button is pressed. If a fault in
the operation of the unit is detected, the audible alarm will begin
to beep once every 5 seconds and continue beeping indefinitely
until power is removed from unit. If the unit exhibits such a fault
condition, disconnect the unit from the AC power immediately and
call MasterGuard Product Warranty department at 1-877-453-3473.
Resetting the Alarm
The Test/Reset button may also be used to reset the audible alarm
during the alarm mode. Once the alarm is activated by detection
of high combustible gas levels, simply press the Test/Reset button
to disable the audible alarm. If the high combustible gas levels
continue to exist, the audible alarm will sound again within two-
and-a-half minutes of the pressing of the Test/Reset button. The
RED indicator will remain lit during the time the audible alarm is
disabled, indicating that the alarm condition still exists.
