Introduction
The JetCon 3301 Gigabit Ethernet media converter series is designed to convert 1000Base-T
signals to 1000Base-SX/LX signals, 1501 Fast Ethernet media converter series (10/100Base-
TX to 100Base-FX). They greatly extend the connection range of Ethernet device to transmit
& receive data via fiber cable without performance degradation. Both converters support
auto-negotiation, flow control function on RJ-45 copper port. The JetCon 3301 converter
series also supports jumbo packets up to 10KB. With the Link Loss Forwarding technology,
the JetCon 3301 / 1501 can fast detect the broken link on RJ-45 port and force the
disconnection on the fiber port immediately. JetCon 3301 / 1501 also features diagnostic
LEDs, which displays power, link and activity, allowing you to quickly detect and correct
problems on the network.

Connecting to the Network

1. Connecting the RJ-45 port: Connect one side of an Ethernet cable into the UTP port of
JetCon converter, while the other side is connected to the attached networking device. The
UTP port supports auto MDI/MDIX function. The JetCon 1501 supports 10Base-T/100Base-
TX. The JetCon Ethernet 3301 supports 1000Base-T Gigabit copper and does not support
10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet environment.
2. Connecting the Fiber port: Connect the fiber port of your JetCon to another one located
on another Fiber Ethernet device. The JetCon 3301 converter supports Gigabit fiber
1000Base-LX/SX and provides different types of fiber connectors such as SC, LC for multi-
mode or single-mode fiber cables (JetCon 1501 series supports 100Base-FX with SC or ST
fiber connector). Please be sure signal connection correctly (Rx-to-Tx or Tx-to-Rx). Wrong
signal connection will cause fiber ports not to work normally.
3. For JetCon 1501, set operation mode of the Fiber port: set operation mode of the Fiber
port: Users can use DIP switch located at right side of the converter to set the fiber port in two
different operation modes, full-duplex and half-duplex. The factory default is set as full duplex
