Charging:
The Keypad 2 has an integrated rechargeable Li-ion battery (350 mAh).
1) Use the micro USB cable to charge the Keypad 2 via the micro USB port on the upper side of the
Keypad 2.
2) LED status indication in solid blue: The Keypad 2 is being charged. LED goes out when battery is
fully charged.
3) LED begins to flash slowly: This is the indication that the battery is low and should be re-charged.
Note: There is no battery level indication in the Bluetooth assistant or a warning other than the
flashing LED!
On/Off:
There is a power ON/OFF switch on the upper side of the Keypad 2.
1) Switch the lever to the right position to power on the Keypad 2 and to the left position to power it
off.
2) There is no need to power off the Keypad (i.e. over night) in order to save battery power. The Key-
pad 2 will go into sleeping mode once it is not actively being used. To re-activate the Keypad 2,
simply press any key on the Keypad 2, and the connection is re-established immediately.
Connecting to with the Apple Magic keyboard:
Use the connecting bar to connect the Keypad 2 to the Apple Magic keyboard. Attach the connecting
bar on the right hand side and slide the Keypad 2 in (see packaging reverse side).
Connecting to host Mac (via Bluetooth):
The connecting process is basically the same as with any other Bluetooth device and can be done by
using the Bluetooth assistant in System Preferences.
1) Open the Bluetooth assistant by opening the System Preferences --> Bluetooth.
2) Make sure that Bluetooth is activated (Bluetooth: On).
3) Press the pairing button on the back of the keypad. The LED flashes until a connection has been
established.
4) The connecting process varies with different OS versions:
- Mac OS X 10.5 to 10.9: Press the "+" in the lower left hand corner so the Bluetooth assistant searches
actively for new Bluetooth devices.
- Mac OS X 10.10 and higher: The Bluetooth assistant searches automatically for new Bluetooth
devices.
5) On the right side in the list of "Devices", you should see the entry "LMP WKP-1644".
- Mac OS X 10.5 to 10.8: Press "Connect". You get an 8-digit code on your screen. Enter the eight digits
on your Keypad 2 and press the key "enter" on the Keypad 2 at the end. The connection should be
established and you see the entry "LMP WKP-1644" in the list of active Bluetooth devices.
- Mac OS X 10.9 and 10.10: Press "Connect". You get a 6-digit code on your screen. Enter the six digits
on your Keypad 2 and press the key "enter" on the Keypad 2 at the end. The connection should be
established and you see the entry "LMP WKP-1644" in the list of active Bluetooth devices.
- Mac OS X 10.11 and higher: Press "Connect". The connection between Mac and Keypad 2 is auto-
matically established and you see the entry "LMP WKP-1644" in the list of active Bluetooth devices.
